Assistant Manager - Store Design

Role Descriptions

  • Prepare and review full set interior construction drawings, including layout plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, details, finishes plans, and furniture/equipment layouts.

  • Prepare, check, and coordinate shop drawings for built-in furniture, counters, kitchen areas, service areas, and other interior elements.

  • Ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and aligned with design intent, site conditions, authority requirements, and construction needs.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Review contractor drawings and highlight discrepancies, missing details, or site coordination issues.

  • Support project tender, construction, and site coordination stages through proper drawing documentation.

  • Conduct site visits when required to assess site conditions and support accurate layout planning.

  • Assist in site coordination with contractors, vendors, and relevant parties as assigned by the superior from time to time.

  • Provide regular project updates to superior and management, including proper reporting and documentation for all assigned projects.

  • Identify site issues and propose practical design or technical solutions.

  • Ensure drawing submissions are completed within the required timeline and quality standard.

  • Assist in managing junior designers or draughtsman, including checking their drawings and guiding them on technical details.

  • Maintain proper drawing records, revisions, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in interior design, preferably in F&B, retail, or commercial interior projects.

  • Strong experience in preparing full set construction drawings and shop drawings.

  • Must have a proven track record of handling detailed technical drawings from design stage to construction stage.

  • Experience in F&B design, including kitchen coordination, service counters, M&E coordination, equipment layout, and operational flow, is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of construction details, materials, finishes, joinery, and site coordination.

  • Able to read and interpret architectural, M&E, and contractor drawings.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD / ZWCAD or equivalent drafting software.

  • Knowledge of SketchUp, 3D software, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools will be an advantage.

  • Able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Able to attend site work or site meetings when required.

  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to solve technical drawing or site-related issues.

  • Posses own transport and willing to travel include outstation.
